Color Difference Explained
Understanding why colors may look different in your paint by numbers kit.
Computer screens use RGB (Red, Green, Blue) light to display colors, while our paint uses CMYK pigments. This fundamental difference means that some colors you see on screen cannot be exactly replicated in paint.
When we convert your photo into a paint by numbers kit, we match your image colors to our available paint palette. The number of colors affects the final result:
- 24 colors - Great for simpler images with fewer details
- 36 colors - Ideal balance of detail and ease of painting
- 48 colors - Maximum detail for complex images
More colors mean more detail but also more complexity in painting.
Color perception varies based on lighting, screen calibration, and the physical properties of paint. What you see on a backlit screen will always differ somewhat from pigments on canvas viewed under ambient light.
Minor color variations between your screen and the final painting are normal and expected. These differences often enhance the artistic quality of your finished piece.
Please note that slight color differences are not grounds for refunds, as they are inherent to the nature of converting digital images to physical paintings.
